Bring your recipe collection from another app. Recipe-Clipper supports Paprika (.paprikarecipes) and Plan to Eat (.txt) export files. Upload your file and all recipes are imported with categories automatically converted to folders. Premium feature.
Cook Mode
Full-screen step-by-step cooking view designed for use in the kitchen. Keeps your screen awake, shows large text, and includes ingredient checkoff, step tracking, and timers. Open any recipe and tap "Cook Mode" to start. Premium feature.

D

Data Export (JSON)
Download your entire cookbook as a JSON file for full data portability. Includes all recipe data, folder assignments, and metadata. Go to your cookbook menu and choose "Export as JSON." Your data is always yours — no lock-in. Premium feature.

E

Edit Ingredients
Fix typos or adjust ingredient amounts after saving a recipe. Open a recipe, tap the "Edit Ingredients" button below the ingredient list, make your changes, and save. Edits become the new base values for scaling. Available on all tiers.
Edit Instructions
Modify cooking steps after saving. Open a recipe, tap the "Edit" button below the instructions, then add, remove, or rewrite steps. Press Enter to add a new step below the current one. Available on all tiers.

F

Folders
Organize your recipes into categories like Desserts, Weeknight Dinners, or Holiday Favorites. Create folders from the menu above your recipe list. Recipes can belong to multiple folders at once — assign them from the folder selector on each recipe card. Available on all tiers.
Founding Member
A limited run of Premium Lifetime plans at a special price. Founding Members get all current and future Premium features forever with a single payment. Once they're gone, they're gone.

I

Ingredient Checkoff
Tap ingredients to mark them as used while cooking. Part of Cook Mode — checked items dim so you can see what's left at a glance. Premium feature.

M

Manual Recipe Entry
Type in your own recipe from scratch — no website or photo needed. Go to your cookbook, click "Add Recipe," then "Enter Manually." Fill in the name, ingredients, instructions, and times. Premium feature.

O

Offline Mode (PWA)
Access your cookbook without an internet connection. Install Recipe-Clipper as an app on your phone or desktop — previously viewed recipes are cached locally, including Cook Mode with timers. Perfect for kitchens with spotty WiFi. Premium feature.

P

PDF Export
Download individual recipes or your entire cookbook as a formatted PDF. The cookbook PDF includes a cover page, table of contents, and folder sections. Great for printing, gifting, or keeping a backup. Premium feature.
PDF Import
Upload a PDF containing a recipe — a scanned cookbook page, a recipe printout, or a PDF from another app. AI extracts the recipe into a clean editable card. Premium feature.
Personal Notes
Add private notes to any recipe — substitutions you liked, tips for next time, who requested it. Notes auto-save as you type and only you can see them. Premium feature.
Photo Import
Save a physical recipe by taking a photo. Tap "Add Recipe," choose "Photo Import," then snap a picture of a cookbook page, recipe card, or restaurant menu. AI extracts the text into a clean recipe. Upload up to 4 photos per recipe for multi-page recipes. Premium feature.
Pin Extension
Make the Recipe-Clipper icon always visible in your browser toolbar. In Chrome and Edge, click the puzzle-piece icon (Extensions), then click the pin next to Recipe-Clipper. In Firefox, right-click the toolbar and choose "Customize Toolbar."

R

Recipe Clipping
The one-click extraction that Recipe-Clipper is built on. Navigate to any recipe page, click the extension icon, and the recipe is parsed automatically — ingredients, instructions, times, and servings. Works on food blogs, Allrecipes, NYT Cooking, and thousands more. Available on all tiers.
Recipe Scaling
See "Smart Scaling."
Recipe Sharing
Generate a public link for any saved recipe so friends and family can view it without an account. Includes social sharing buttons for Twitter/X, Facebook, and WhatsApp. The shared page links back to Recipe-Clipper with a branding CTA. Pro and Premium feature.

S

Save Shared Recipes
When someone shares a Recipe-Clipper link with you, you can save that recipe directly to your own cookbook with one click. Requires a Pro or Premium account.
Search
Find recipes by name or ingredient. The search bar at the top of your cookbook filters results as you type. Available on all tiers.
Shopping List
Build a grocery list from your recipes. Open a recipe and tap "Add to Shopping List" — AI consolidates duplicate ingredients across multiple recipes and organizes them by grocery category (Produce, Dairy, Meat, Pantry). Check off items as you shop. Premium feature.
Smart Scaling
Adjust serving sizes and all ingredients update automatically. What makes it smart: spices, leavening, and strong flavors are dampened so they don't scale linearly — doubling a recipe doesn't mean doubling the salt. Use the scale buttons (0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x) on any recipe. Premium feature.
Starter Recipes
Five sample recipes added to your cookbook when you sign up, so you can explore features like Cook Mode and Smart Scaling right away without saving any recipes first. Available on all tiers.
Step Tracker
Navigate through cooking steps one at a time in Cook Mode. The current step is highlighted with large text. Use arrow keys or swipe to move between steps. Part of Cook Mode. Premium feature.

T

Timers
Set multiple simultaneous timers while cooking. Timers are auto-detected from recipe instructions (e.g., "bake for 25 minutes") and appear in a floating panel. You can also add manual timers. Part of Cook Mode. Premium feature.

U

Unit Conversion
Toggle between Imperial (cups, tablespoons, ounces, Fahrenheit) and Metric (milliliters, grams, kilograms, Celsius) units. Tap the unit toggle on any recipe to switch. Premium feature.
