Recipe Clipper connector for Claude

Connect your Recipe Clipper recipe box to Claude and work with your own recipes by chatting: find what you saved, save new recipes, keep them in folders and build your shopping list.

What you need

  • A Recipe Clipper account (create one). Searching and reading your recipes works on any account.
  • Saving recipes and using the shopping list need Premium (see plans).

Connect it

  1. In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Add Recipe Clipper from the directory, or add a custom connector with this server URL: https://www.recipe-clipper.com/api/mcp
  3. Sign in to Recipe Clipper when the sign-in page opens, and approve access.

Then try: “What chicken recipes do I have?”, “Save this recipe” with a link, or “Add the lasagna ingredients to my shopping list.”

What Claude can do

Read

  • search_recipes: Search your recipes by name, ingredient or phrase, optionally inside one folder.
  • get_recipe: Open a recipe: ingredients, steps, times, servings, notes and nutrition.
  • list_folders: List your folders with how many recipes each holds.
  • get_shopping_list: Show your shopping list and what is ticked off.

Change

  • save_recipe_from_url: Save a recipe from a web page link.
  • save_recipe_from_text: Save a recipe from text, such as one you dictate.
  • edit_recipe: Change a recipe’s details.
  • delete_recipe: Delete a recipe (marked destructive, so Claude asks first).
  • create_folder: Create a folder.
  • add_recipe_to_folder: Put a recipe in a folder.
  • remove_recipe_from_folder: Take a recipe out of a folder (the recipe stays).
  • add_to_shopping_list: Add a recipe’s ingredients, or single items, to your shopping list.
  • remove_from_shopping_list: Remove items from your shopping list.
  • clear_shopping_list: Empty your shopping list (marked destructive, so Claude asks first).
  • share_recipe: Make a public share link for one recipe.
  • stop_sharing: Turn a recipe’s share link off.

Your data

  • The connector only reaches the signed-in person's own recipe box, or the box they share with their household. It never reaches anyone else's recipes.
  • When you save from a link, Recipe Clipper fetches that public page and reads the recipe from its structured recipe data, or with Anthropic's Claude when the page has none.
  • Some large recipe sites block our server. Then nothing is saved and you get a clear message; the Recipe Clipper browser extension can read those pages in your own browser instead.
  • Full details are in our privacy policy.

Disconnect

Remove the connector in Claude's Settings, then Connectors. You can also revoke Claude's access from your Recipe Clipper profile page.
